Beltline Interceptor is a large underground pipe which transports water from the Phalen Chain of Lakes, Beaver Lake, and the local watershed on the east side of St. Paul. It mainly discharges into the Mississippi River but also has a smaller secondary outlet into the wetland and channel system which leads into Pigs Eye Lake.The main WOMP (Watershed Outlet Monitoring Program) station on the Beltline Interceptor is Beltline Interceptor above Warner Rd, River Mile 0.5. Samples are regularly collected throughout the year during baseflow and storm events. The Beltline Interceptor Outfall to the Mississippi River, River Mile 0 was monitored in 1988 as part of a special low flow study.
