Shingle Creek is located in the central region of the metropolitan area. It begins when Bass and Eagle Creeks join together in Brooklyn Park. Then it flows about 11 miles through Brooklyn Center and Minneapolis, eventually draining into the Mississippi River from North Mississippi Regional Park. The majority of the Single Creek Watershed is developed and residential.Shingle Creek near the outlet to the Mississippi River, River Mile 0.1 was a WOMP (Watershed Outlet Monitoring Program) station from 1995 to 1999. It measured the water quality of Shingle Creek before it entered into the Mississippi River.
